Andrew Wright Principal Andrew Wright's passion for design and building, nurtured in a childhood where crafts and design were part of daily life, has led to a forty year commitment to architecture. After receiving a liberal arts degree from Case Western Reserve University, he worked for a Boston neighborhood arts program building adventure playgrounds and painting wall murals with community participation. Spurred to work at a more complex level, he enrolled in Rice University's School of Architecture. After graduating in 1976 he sought the exposure of an alternate design experience through working at Ricardo Bofill's El Taller de Arquitectura in Barcelona. He returned to the States and worked in the offices of Walker Cain and SOM before joining Joseph Tonetti. Now a principal in this firm he is developing solutions to unique design challenges and fulfilling his life-long enthusiasm for an architectural vision. Andrew focuses on assisting institutional, not-for-profit and public agency clients to solve their immediate needs and realize the potential in a long term vision. Recent projects include the GHESKIO Family Health Center in Port-au-Prince/Haiti, the Mars Education Center at Fort Ticonderoga, the planning for the Staten Island Museum's relocation to Snug Harbor and the restoration of P.S. 132 in Brooklyn. He is a LEED accredited professional and an active member of the Association of Preservation Technology and the American Institute of Architects. He has presented seminars and papers to the Mid Atlantic Museum Association, the Museum Association of New York and to the Friends of French Architecture. He was a Visiting Adjunct Professor at Pratt Institute, NY. |
