James Madison High School boasts four Nobel Prize winners, two US senators and a US Supreme Court Justice among its alumns. Built 80 years ago, it no longer met the needs of the current students. The Department of Education retained TAA to survey, assess and prepare recommendations to upgrade the school facilities and to introduce contemporary learning environments. The study included the addition and renovation of classrooms, laboratories, the auditorium, the library, administrative spaces, and athletic facilities. It also included exterior facade stabilization and site improvements, the replacement of building systems and the modernization of the natatorium.
